My Extracurricular

                                                                               Softball

My extracurricular is softball or foster (The name of softball extracurricular in SMAN 3). Softball is variant of baseball played with a larger ball and smaller fields. I join foster as my extracurricular because I was intrested on playing softball and my father wanted me to join foster.

There are three types of softball. In the most common type, slow-pitch softball, the ball, which can measure either 11 or 12 inches in circumference depending on the age and league, must arch on its path to the batter, and there are 10 players in a team. In fast pitch softball, the pitch is fast, there are nine players on the field at one time, and bunting and stealing are permitted. Modified softball restricts the windmill windup of the pitcher, although the pitcher is allowed throw as hard as possible with the restricted back swing. Softball rules vary somewhat from those of baseball. Two major differences are that the ball must be pitched underhand from 14 m  as compared with 18 m in baseball and that seven innings instead of nine consecutive regulation game.

Fast pitch softball is played between two teams on a large field, with nine players from one team on the field at a time. Slow-pitch softball is played with ten fielders. The field is usually composed of a dirt or brick-dust infield that contains the quadrilateral shape and running areas, and a grass outfield. However, the field can consist of other solid and dry surfaces such as artificial turf or asphalt. There are four bases on the infield (first basesecond basethird base, and home plate); the bases are arranged in a square and are typically 13 to 19 meters apart. Near the center of this square is the pitcher's circle, and within the circle is the "rubber", a small flat rectangular piece of rubber about a foot and a half in length. The rubber can be 40 or 43 feet away from home plate.

My Favorite Place

The liveliest place in the old fishing village of Volendam is its harbor full of historic sailing ships. Here you’ll find cafes where you can relax on a sunny afternoon and visit stalls selling salted herring, smoked eel and kibbeling. See Volendam Harbour’s traditional triangle-shaped architecture and forest of sailing ship masts which make it seem miles away from Amsterdam.
This town was originally the harbor of nearby Edam, but in the 14th century the Edammers dug their own canal to the Zuiderzee. Notice that the original harbor was reclaimed by damming and became the fishing village of Volendam, complete with its own traditions and culture.
If you have ever wanted to know how you’d look in a traditional Dutch costume, Volendam is the place to find out. Along the harborfront are shops where you can try on and photograph yourself in the Volendam style of “klederdracht,” complete with pleated hat and clogs for the ladies and wide-legged pants for the men. If you’re not interested in dressing up yourself, find plenty of photo opportunities with the many statues in the harbor depicting Volendammers in historic dress.
Walk just behind the harbor to the Volendams Museum where you can learn about the history, costumes and culture of the area between 1850 and 1950 in rooms decorated in period furniture.
If you have time, take the ferry from the harbor to the village of Marken. After a 13th-century storm, it became accessible for hundreds of years only by watercraft. Now it is joined to Waterland south of Volendam by a dike.
Having been isolated for so long, Marken maintained traditional culture and architecture much longer than did other mainland towns. Inhabitants developed their own traditional costumes and unique houses on stilts to deal with regular flooding. Walk along the island’s beach to see the lighthouse, built in 1839. When you get hungry, visit one of several restaurants around the ferry terminal. Try the local delicacy of smoked eel.

WTTF 2016

On Saturday, 20th of August there is an event in my school. It's called WTTF. WTTF stands for World Tournament x Techno Festival. It was organized by OSIS SMAN 3 Bandung and participated by #32018 and #32019. It replaced sports lesson.

First of all, each class of #32018 and #32019 had to chose the outfit color. My class X MIPA 8 chose navy blue as the dresscode. At 6.30 am we gathered in Bali field.
The rules were given by the committee. The game will be 32018 versus 32019. So my class' opponent was our seniors, XI MIPA 8. Every winners of the game will be given a piece of puzzle. Then, every two classes will be accompanied by two committee. Another rules was the participants had to speak english during the event.

The first game was answering question about technology. I'm a bit confused on that game so I don't help my class and my class is lost. We were dissapointed but it was only the start.

The second game was held in Taman Tongkeng. It's quite far from Bali field and we must walk to get there. We had to make robot with the tools given by the committee. There were boxes, bottles, straws, scissors, tape, etc. The committees only gave us 5 minutes to complete our robots. But the result was a bit strange i think. It's because we didn't have much time to complete our robot. But surprisingly we won.

The third game was held in Taman Foto. We had to walk again to the arena. We played twister there. This game was fun because my friends' body tied up in a knot. Sadly we lost that game.

After that, we had a break for 30 minutes. Then we went to the class to watch a short film about a robot which was treated badly by its creator. It was a touching story.

The next game is quiz about general knowledge and we win this game! After that we went to parking field. There was an eating contest food. My friends had to eat super spicy noodles. But we lost again.

There was also gaming contest. The game we played was Tekken and Football. It's really fun to watch. Then, we went to Taman Musik to play Second Rank, its a game about knowledge. The objective is to be the second rank. But we didn't win it.

After that, we went back to Lapangan Bali to play Flappy Bird, the game was very annoying :(. The last game was a sport game. We have to detached the opponets' handband. This game was really fun.

At the end of the event, all of participants gathered in Lapangan Bali. The committee told us (all of 3'2019) to gather the puzzles and complete  them. They gave us 15 minutes. And the result is 3'2019 won the game! This is the picture of the puzzle:

After that, the committee annouced the best class of 2018 and 2019. The best class of 2018 is XI MIPA 5. And the best class of 2019 is X MIPA 8, it's my class yeaaay! They gave us pizza. We didn't expected to win though. I was happy because we win and the teamwork is paid off at the end.
